We are keeping Mark Burnett's family in our thoughts during this time. It was recently revealed that his son, Cameron Burnett, was hospitalized last week — four years after undergoing surgery to have a brain tumor removed. Fortunately, the 20-year-old is now back home recovering.
While details surrounding his visit are seemingly still under wraps, Mark's wife, Roma Downey, shared a series of cryptic posts last week asking for prayers for a loved one. "Dear friends, I need your prayers please for someone I love who is ill tonight. Thank you," she wrote on Instagram over the weekend. The couple confirmed the news of Cameron's homecoming with People, stating, "Our family is so thankful for all the prayers over the last few days. We are relieved to have Cameron back home with us and we are so incredibly grateful for the amazing care he received at UCLA."
Cameron attended University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts and was photographed at the Horse Guards Parade in London last week. Mark's other son, James, opened up about what his brother was going to at the time of his surgery. "They had to remove a growth in his pituitary gland which is located right under the brain, and has apparently been growing for the past 10 years," he said via The Daily Mail.
Since his recent hospitalization, Roma — of Touched by an Angel fame — extended her thanks to fans and loved ones for their thoughts on social media. "Thanking God for answered prayers for our family and to everyone out there who prayed with us this week THANK YOU . We are so grateful!" she shared. Roma wrote in another post, "Dear friends, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers for our son Cameron. You all responded so fast and Mark and I are so appreciative of your kindness and prayer support."
