Pregnant Cardi B Drops Jaws at Her First-Ever Met Gala
Dripping in finesse — and pearls, and jewels! Cardi B graced the Met Gala red carpet for the very first time — and her look didn’t disappoint.
The pregnant star was on trend for the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination-themed event and arrived arm-in-arm with Moschino designer Jeremy Scott. The star covered her baby bump in a long-sleeved off-white dress that was adorned with jewels and pearls, and the gown also featured a puffy train and a thigh-high slit. But the real showstopper of the rapper’s ensemble was her over-the top embellished headpiece.
Earlier in the night, the superstar’s fiancé Offset wore Versace along his Migos bandmates. The duo are expecting their first child together, and she recently opened about whether or not she was going to have an abortion — though she ultimately decided against it. “You know what — I’m a grown woman. I’m 25 years old,” she says she realized. “I’m a schmillionaire, and I’m prepared for this.”
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper also addressed the haters who claimed that having a baby would ruin her career. “It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘I feel sorry for you. Your career is over.’ And it’s like why can’t I have both? Why do I gotta choose a career or a baby? Why can’t I have both? I want both,” she explained. “I don’t want to wait until I’m 30-something to have a kid. I want my kid now that I have energy and stuff.” It’s safe to say that Cardi B. isn’t going anywhere!
