Last November, Carrie Underwood suffered a “gruesome fall” that resulted in a serious injury to her wrist and face, requiring 50 stitches. The American Idol winner is now sharing a new selfie with fans— but still does not feel comfortable enough to show her full face.

Instead, she is drawing attention to modern-day slavery with her husband Mike Fisher — and used the movement’s big red “X” to shield her face from the camera. Her followers quickly showed their support for the blonde beauty, urging her to take her time. “There is more to @carrieunderwood then just her face. She will show it when she is damn good and ready,” one fan wrote before another added, “Of course people want to know what it looks like. But it’s her own insecurity. Leave it be.”

Last month, Carrie, 34, opened up about her injury and revealed it was worse than people expected. “There is also another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up,” she wrote. “It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life. In addition to breaking my wrist, I somehow managed to injure my face as well.”

She continued, “When I am ready to get in front of a camera, I want you all to understand why I might look a bit different. I’m hoping that, by then, the differences are minimal, but, again, I just don’t know how it’s all going to end up.”

In the meantime, Carrie has been posting workout photos with her two-year-old son Isaiah and cheering on her hubby, who recently announced he is coming out of retirement. “It’s great to be back,” Mike said. “The more I thought about it, and I really didn’t decide until recently, I just thought about the opportunity, how good this team is. Thought a lot about the run last year, and what could be. Had the blessing from family and my wife… I’m ready for it.”
