Courtney Love, Jodie Sweetin, and More Stars’ Who Admitted to Drinking, Smoking, and Doing Drugs While They Were Pregnant

Jodie Sweetin drank during her first pregnancy.

"There were a couple instances of me drinking [while pregnant]," she revealed back in 2016. “I not only put myself in danger, but also my daughter, who I loved more than anything."

Courtney Love took heroin while pregnant with her daughter, Frances.

The 52-year-old rocker made this shocking confession in the HBO documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.

"I used it once then stopped," she said in the film. "I knew she would be fine."

Model Beverly Johnson did cocaine while she was pregnant.

"I took a one-in-one," she revealed to Inside Edition while promoting her memoir, The Face That Changed It All in 2015. "A one-in-one is [when you snort] one in one nostril and one in the other. But if you look back at the number of women who smoke and drank in the ‘70s while they were pregnant, you know, people didn’t say 'don’t smoke, don’t drink’ during that era. We didn’t know that until a couple of decades ago."

The Real Housewives of New York's Alex McCord drank champagne while she was pregnant.

The reality TV star admitted in 2010 that not only did she drink during her pregnancy, she also sipped champagne while she went into labor!

"Throughout my pregnancy, I gave into every craving I felt," she wrote in her book, Little Kids Big City: Tales From a Real House in New York City. "When I wanted to have a drink, I did."

Belinda Carlisle of the Go-Go's "drank daily" while pregnant with her son.

“I didn’t notice and I didn’t pay attention,” Belinda said while promoting her memoir, Lips Unsealed, where she made the shocking confession. “I only noticed what I cared to notice. I didn’t really pay attention to what other people said.”

Mackenzie Phillips did drugs while pregnant.

“I shot up cocaine while pregnant with my son,” she admitted in her memoir, Hopeful Healing. “The horror of my actions in sober retrospect is something that I deal with to this day.”

Rachel Weisz thinks it's fine to drink wine while pregnant.

"Personally I do [drink wine while pregnant]," she said back in 2006. "They say not to in the first three months though, but I think that after that it’s fine. I mean, in Europe they drink it."

X Factor's Stacey Solomon admitted to being "ashamed" that she smoked through her pregnancy.

"What can I say… it’s something that I’m really ashamed and really embarrassed about," the reality TV star/pop singer said in 2015 after she was caught smoking while pregnant. "All I can say is that from the day that I found out that I was pregnant I’ve tried my hardest [to stop smoking], and I’m continuing to try."

Singer Kerry Katona admitted to smoking one cigarette a day while pregnant.

"I was smoking 20 a day before I was pregnant and I've cut down to one," she said in 2007 while pregnant with her youngest son. "I honestly don't think a couple of puffs are going to do that much damage."

U.K. actress Danniella Westbrook snorted a line of cocaine while giving birth to her son.

In a 2012 TV interview, the soaps actress admitted to taking five grams of cocaine a day while pregnant with her first baby. Shockingly, while she was in labor, she asked for people in her delivery room to leave so that she could snort a quick line.

“I took drugs right up to the moment I delivered him, in the bathroom of the
suite," she said.
