Amanda Seyfried watched an episode of Big Love with her parents, forgetting she had a sex scene in it.

"I was sitting there watching and all of a sudden it cut to a scene where two people are having sex, and it's me! Having sex! I just thought, 'No, no, no!'" she said in 2010. "It was so much more graphic than I remembered. I was horrified."

Rupert Grint watched his sex scene in Cherrybomb with his parents.

“It was agonizing,” he said in 2010. “The scene is quite tastefully done, but it’s not the sort of moment you really want to share with your mum and dad… When the scene arrived we all sat there not really saying anything.”

Allison Williams watched her explicit sex scene in Girls with her dad.

"I got some advice from my parents [about the sex scene]," she said in 2015. "Just your regular dinner conversation! We’re changing as a family; it’s lovely."

Although Allison wasn't shy about the scene, her fellow costars thought otherwise.

“I sat behind Allison and her dad [at the premiere]," costar Jemima Kirke had said, "And I was going to puke. I was so nervous. I don’t even know him, but can you imagine? Watching a kissing scene with my dad next to me is awful, let alone with you getting — whatever that’s called — motorboated in your a–!”

Zac Efron watched his sex scene in The Lucky One with his mom.

"We saw the film together and I was kind of squirming," Zac said in 2012. "Even though [my mom] was a couple of seats down from me, I tried to duck out during those scenes because it was too embarrassing."

Emilia Clarke sat down to watch her Game of Thrones nude scene with her parents.

“I ended up sitting them down and being like, ‘Let’s watch it’ — and then instantly regretting it,” she said in 2016. “My dad was like, ‘[You're nude] again?'”

Shailene Woodley said her parents "loved" her sex scene in White Bird in a Blizzard.

"I felt great doing [the sex scene]," she said in 2014. "I was not fully robed. And our bodies had no makeup. Who needs makeup? I’m only 22. My boobs are great. They don’t need any help. My parents saw the film. I thought it might be awkward, but they both loved it.”

Julianne Hough was "uncomfortable" watching her sex scene in Safe Haven with her dad.

"I just got lower and lower in my seat," she told Access Hollywood. "I'm like covering [Ryan Seacrest's] eyes. My dad's sitting next to Ryan, I'm like, 'This is so uncomfortable.'"

Christopher Mintz-Plasse had to film his sex scene in Superbad in front of his mom.

"It was because I was 17," he said in 2010. "Stupid law. I was just sitting there with my boxers on, waiting for my mom to drive down to the set. She got there, and I had fake sexual intercourse in front of her."

Dominik García-Lorido said her parents were fine with her sex scene in Magic City.

"In this scene you saw my butt and sideboob," she said in 2015. "We watched that scene together — me, [my dad], and my mom — and it was fine. They actually thought it was beautifully done."

Aubrey Plaza said her parents were shocked and excited about her sex scene in The To Do List.

"My mom was shocked, but I think she’ll be OK," she said in 2013. "My dad was actually really psyched about it. He’s not like my dad in the movie—he’s actually really excited and not weirded out [by the sex scenes] at all. Which I think is weird."

Michelle Keegan said watching sex scenes with her family was cringe-inducing.

“With parents watching it’s so cringe!" she said in 2016. "We had a screening a couple of days ago in Manchester and my parents came, but luckily I wasn’t sat anywhere near them, but my brother was… My brother said he didn’t look at them once and there was silence. So yeah it was quite embarrassing!”
