Life & Style has learned that Charlize Theron and Sean Penn’s wedding plans have come to a screeching halt.
“Charlize is afraid a piece of paper will ruin everything,” a source close to the couple says in the new issue of Life & Style. “She’s never been married and she’s not only getting pressure from Sean, but from her mother, Gerda, too.”
The insider adds that Gerda’s worried Charlize is letting history repeat itself. “Gerda thinks this is exactly like her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Stuart Townsend all over again,” the insider shares.

“Charlize dated Stuart for years, and they talked about marriage all the time. They would get close, make some plans, but Charlize could never go through with it.”

But, the Oscar winner isn’t ready for anything to end. “Charlize is all for being in a committed relationship,” the insider explains, adding that “she’s just afraid to commit to marriage.”
