The suspense was killing Real Housewives of Atlanta fans when it came to the construction of Chateau Sheree. After more than five years of delayed completion dates, Sheree Whitfield finally unveiled her house last season — and we have to admit it was worth the wait.

The Season 9 finale ended with a look inside the Atlanta mansion — complete with great room, top-notch kitchen, and a very impressive wine cabinet. “I love detail,” Sheree, 47, said during a tour of her home for Bravo. “Everything is hand-picked by me,” She went on to show off her breakfast nook, where she puts her “spades game on deck.” “Anybody who knows me knows that I am the queen of spades. Nobody can beat me.”

At the time, Sheree reminded her fans, “Just because you took longer than others, doesn’t mean you failed,” on social media, but there are now rumors that her home ownership might be short-lived. Last season, house rival Kenya Moore and her Moore Manor claimed that Chateau Sheree was actually owned by her mom, shadily calling it Chateau Thelma. Now, there are reports that accuse Sheree of owing multiple contractors in addition to $350,000 in federal liens.

“With the tax liens that are against Chateau charade, it just might be the future home of the IRS,” Kenya said on RHOA. At the time, Sheree was still in the process of building her home and defended her progress (or lack thereof). “It takes time” she responded to Kenya. “When you finish your mold-infested house… you shouldn’t even be worried about me. Nobody should be in my business.”

Today, it seems that Sheree is still happily living in her Chateau, proving all the haters wrong. On a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, she revealed that she has finally finished all construction — including that messy basement! “I feel like that was part of my job. Working on that house for so long and with my kids being gone, I had nothing else to do,” she said. “So I finished my basement, so I’m super happy about that, and I don’t care what they think. My basement looks better than some of their main levels.”

So where do their castmates stand when it comes to Moore Manor vs. Chateau Sheree? Kandi Burruss is staying neutral, telling The Daily Dish, “I think both the homes are really great,” Moore Manor is very modern and [Chateau] Shereé, it’s like a castle. That house is humongous. So I think both houses are great.” However, Cynthia Bailey is picking sides, and unfortunately, it’s not Sheree. “Well, you know, Kenya’s my girl, so I’m gonna have to go with the Manor.”

This season, we have a feeling NeNe Leakes’ “roast-infested” home will be making the headlines. Be sure to tune into RHOA on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo!
