We are SHOOK! Fans were in shock after they found out that they’ve been pronouncing the last names of beloved stars Chrissy Teigen and Ariana Grande wrong this entire time — and the best part is, they never even bothered to correct anyone.

It all started when a recent segment from the Australian morning radio show The Kyle and Jackie O Show went viral because host Jackie O revealed that pretty much everyone in the world was pronouncing Ariana Grande‘s name wrong: it’s not “Gr-ahn-day,” it’s actually pronounced “Gr-an-dee.” One of Chrissy’s fans quoted the tweet and pointed out that Ariana, 25, wasn’t the only celeb who’s had their name completely butchered by fans.

“Well, we pronounce @chrissyteigen’s name wrong all the time,” the fan wrote. Chrissy, 32, responded, “Word! Gave up a long time ago. Last name is Tie-gen, not Tee-gen.”

One fan pointed out that even Chrissy herself has pronounced her name like “Tee-gen,” and Chrissy had a hilarious, confusing response. “I know. I even correct people when they say it correctly. It’s all v effed [sic] up,” she tweeted.

Other fans who have had the unfortunate experience of having to correct someone for mispronouncing their names chimed in, and one pointed out that they’re surprised that Chrissy has not corrected anyone over the pronunciation of her own name. But Chrissy explained that it’s a character trait of hers to not correct people.

“I don’t correct people, ever. They can call me Janet and I won’t. Wrong order? I’ll eat it. Taxi going to the wrong airport? I’ll change my flight,” she wrote.

Finally, Chrissy recorded a video of herself pronouncing her own name — and she even got her mom, Vilailuck Teigen, to confirm that she is pronouncing it correctly. “I am tired of living this lie. It’s Tie-gen,” she said with a laugh. “Isn’t it, mom?” she asked, and her mom said, “Yup!” Well, there we have it.
