The buzz has been relatively quiet surrounding Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump's divorce proceedings since they announced their split in March 2018. But don't be fooled, because sources told In Touch that things are about to get nasty between the former couple. And — to no one's surprise — money is one of the biggest issues.
Don Jr. — who is worth around $300 million — and Vanessa appeared in court on April 27, and he demanded that she reveal her net worth after word got out that her family inherited some serious dough from the sale of Rao's Specialty Foods, a company her late father had invested in. Vanessa has yet to give up the infomation, but just the fact that Don Jr. asked her to do so is a controversial move, and she's not going to release anything without a fight.
"She's a tough girl," says a friend. "You don't want to mess with her." Before Vanessa got caught up with the Trump family, she was rumored to be dating a member of the street gang, Latin Kings. "Vanessa was known for being really badass," the source says.
While it's unclear if the two have a prenup, it's believed that Vanessa is going to demand a good chunk of settlement money. Not only will she want to continue to "maintain her lifestyle," but she also might threaten Don Jr. with leaking information he doesn't want the public to know — like details about his alleged affair with singer, Aubrey O'Day. "A lot more could come out," the friend claimed. "Vanessa could make Don pay for the public embarrassment he caused her."
The couple shares five children together — Kai, 11, Donald III, 9, Tristan, 6, Spencer, 5, and Chloe, 3. And while Don Jr. will "cover his bases" and make Vanessa sign a non-disclosure agreement to keep all things Trump-related on the down low, their five kids could be the reason Vanessa gets even more money in the end.
Only time will tell how long it takes the divorce to be finalized, but there's a lot to figure out before then. "Between fighting over money, Vanessa not wanting to be publicly embarrassed anymore than she already has and Don Jr.’s ego, it'll get bad," the source adds.
