Clayton Kershaw Welcomes Baby No. 5 with Wife Ellen One Month After Retiring from Baseball

Former pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Clayton Kershaw, has a new addition to the family.

On December 23, Kershaw took to Instagram to make the big announcement to his fans.

In the post, Clayton posted a series of photos of him and his family, including him posing alongside his wife Ellen Kershaw, their new baby, and their four other children in the hospital room.

In the caption, Clayton wrote, “Meet Chloe Peach Kershaw, who joined our crew and arrived on December 19th! She’s perfect and her brothers and sister are obsessed with her. We are grateful for the gift of her life!”

In addition to Chloe, the couple shares one daughter, Cali Ann (born 2015), and three sons, Charley Clayton (born 2016), Cooper Ellis (born 2020), and Chance James (born 2021).

In the comments of the post, fans congratulated the happy family.

“Congratulations! You have a beautiful family. God bless, and Merry Christmas 🎄” one fan wrote in the comments.

“Welcome to the world Chloe Peach!! Cutest baby name ever,” another fan commented.

Even Clayton’s former team was sharing in his joy.

“Congratulations, Kershaw family! Welcome to the world, Chloe Peach. 💙” the official Dodgers Instagram account commented on the post.

Back in September, Clayton announced the 2025 baseball season would be his last.

“I’m going to call it. I’m going to retire,” he said in a press conference. “We talked about it a lot. Ellen and I talked about it a lot. The kiddos talked about it a lot. I’m at peace with it. I think it’s the right time.”

Clayton certainly ended his career with a bang, helping his team win the 2025 World Series in his final game.

However, even with a massive victory to celebrate, Clayton was focused on the next phase of his life, taking time in his retirement to be a dad to his now-five children.

While the Dodgers may take him on in an administrative capacity in the future, in the aftermath of his World Series win, he shared his priorities with the press.

“First and foremost, it’s for me to have this fifth kid and be a dad for a while,” he said in a post-game interview following his World Series win. “I don’t think there’s any full-time jobs in my immediate future.”
