'High School Musical' Cast Reunites for Film's 10-Year Anniversary

It’s the high school reunion we’ve all been waiting for!

The cast of the Disney Channel favorite High School Musical franchise is “all in this together” and back in the halls of East High School to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the first film’s premiere.

Cast members Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman will all be on-hand to introduce and reminisce about the film when it airs on the Disney Channel at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Sadly, Zac Efron, who played the lead role of Troy, will be away on a promotional tour for his new film, Bad Grandpa, and won’t be joining his co-stars in the segment.

But the news does have a silver lining! Efron may not appear in the pre-taped special, but he has recorded separate clips that will be included in the network’s coverage. Luckily, the cast has been documenting their reunion, much to the fans’ delight.

When the film first premiered in 2006, the then-unknown cast was immediately thrown into the spotlight. Now, 10 years and countless films later, the musical stars are back together again to pay tribute to their famous flick.

Zac Efron (Troy Bolton)

The 28-year-old has a bunch of news movies coming out this year including Dirty Grandpa with Robert De Niro and Julianne Hough, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising with Seth Rogen and Dave Franco, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates with Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza. He and his girlfriend, model Sami Miro, recently celebrated their one-year anniversary together.

Last year, the actor went to rehab for a "serious" cocaine problem.
