When it comes to worrying about her weight, Kourtney Kardashian‘s struggle is far different than that of her sisters’ Khloé Kardashian and Kim Kardashian. In fact, the mother-of-three has to actively try to keep the pounds on. Of course, as many of us know, maintaining weight requires a strict diet and exercise regime.
“She works out and eats in order to try to stay around 100 lbs.,” a source revealed to People, adding that the KUWTK star doesn’t want to get too skinny. “Yes, she eats very healthy, but she wants her body to be healthy and not underweight or malnourished.”
Back in February, the 39-year-old revealed that she was at her lowest weight yet — 98 pounds — just 36 pounds heavier than her eight-year-old son Mason. However, if you think Kourtney’s weight sounds scary low, take heart. The National Institutes of Health says the normal weight range for someone 5 feet tall is 97 to 127 pounds.
On the other hand, if you’re inspired by this reality star’s weight loss, she previously revealed the rules of her diet on her official app. “I always try to avoid sugar — especially refined sugar — for so many reasons,” she said. “First, sugar is addictive and I notice that after I eat it, I need it. Sugar doesn’t sustain you when you actually need energy, like for a workout. Also, when I eat sugar, I find that more cellulite appears.”
Gluten and dairy are out of the question, too, said Kourt. “I have noticed a great positive change in behavior with my children when we stick to a gluten-free and dairy-free diet.” Don’t get it twisted, though: Every now and again Kourt knows how to splurge with the best of ’em!
“When I’m traveling (and sometimes on the weekend), I’ll cheat—I’m a little more lenient now than I was when I first started this whole thing,” she said. Sounds like the eldest-Kardashian has found the perfect balance. You go, girl!
