The Greatest Showman star, 57, and the Broadway icon, 50, made their public debut as a couple at the world premiere of Song Sung Blue on Sunday, October 26, during the closing night of AFI Fest at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Jackman looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo, while Foster stunned in a floor-length black satin gown with delicate spaghetti straps. The pair radiated happiness, smiling and holding each other close as they posed for photographers — marking a glamorous new chapter in their relationship.
The actor also shared a few snaps with his Song Sung Blue costar Kate Hudson, who dazzled in a silky burnt orange gown. In the upcoming film, Jackman and Hudson play real-life married musicians Mike and Claire Sardina, founders of a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder.
This marks the first official red carpet appearance for Jackman and Foster, whose romance first made headlines earlier this year. The pair, who starred together in the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man, were first spotted holding hands in Los Angeles in January. Shortly after, they were photographed sharing a kiss while waiting in line at an In-N-Out Burger drive-thru — a down-to-earth moment that confirmed what fans had begun to suspect.
By February, a source told Us Weekly that the two were “madly in love” and “relieved and happy” to be out in public together after their respective separations. “They’re not officially living together but spending a lot of time together,” the insider added.
Foster filed for divorce from her husband, screenwriter Ted Griffin, in October 2024 after nearly a decade of marriage. The former couple share an 8-year-old adopted daughter, whom they welcomed in 2017.
Jackman, meanwhile, announced his separation from wife Deborra-Lee Furness in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the couple said in a joint statement. “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”
While neither Jackman nor Foster has commented on the timeline of their relationship, rumors have circulated about when their romance began. In November 2024, a source told Us that “Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb got divorced. A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap.”
