Taking his time. Christina Anstead may have moved on, but Tarek El Moussa isn’t ready to date just yet. Instead, the Flip or Flop star is focusing on his two kids, Taylor, 8, and Brayden, 3.

“I’m just not there yet, in a personal place to take on that challenge of falling in love again because that sounds like a big mountain to climb,” the 37-year-old said in an interview with SheKnows. “Right now, I’m just putting all my love towards my kids and every extra ounce of energy I have goes towards building my brand and just becoming better at who I am. I’m sure one day when the dust settles, I might get lonely and look for someone.”

Tarek and Christina, 36, were married for nearly nine years before officially divorcing in January 2018. “Like any couple, we had our share of issues,” Christina explained to People in 2017. “But we went through a lot in a short amount of time.”

When their hit HGTV series launched in 2013, Tarek was suddenly diagnosed with thyroid cancer. As he went through radiation treatment, Christina also began a grueling struggle to get pregnant via in vitro fertilization and suffered a miscarriage in 2014.

According to Tarek, being in the public eye didn’t make matters any easier. “Let’s just be honest, it was awful,” he said on The Dr. Drew Podcast. “I mean there was more PR about our divorce than any divorce I think I’ve ever seen. I mean it was wild, on every single magazine, on every news outlet, it was just beyond me.”

Still, the former flames continue to film. In June, Christina shared a promo for Flip or Flop alongside her ex. “#FliporFlop is back on August 1st with 18 brand new episodes! We can’t wait to show you the amazing transformations we’ve been working on for season 8. Tune in every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/PT! #hgtv @hgtv,” the reality TV mama, who is pregnant with her third child, wrote.

So how does her current husband, Ant Anstead, feel about the two working together? As it happens, he’s more than cool with it. “Stands and applauds 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼,” the 40-year-old Brit wrote underneath the promo. “So damn proud of you!! 🤗❤️A class act! X x”
