Jennifer Lopez Hasn’t Heard From Family in Puerto Rico Since the Hurricanes: “The Devastation Is Beyond Belief”
Our hearts go out to Jennifer Lopez during this difficult time. The 48-year-old star recently uploaded a video to Instagram explaining to her fans that she hasn’t heard from her family in Puerto Rico since the hurricanes. Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria recently blew through the Caribbean island leaving destruction (and sadly some deaths) in its wake. And many celebs like Jennifer have family who live there.
Honestly, we can’t imagine what she and her family are going through right now. So many people are currently in a state of worry and panic as they wait to hear from their loved ones. Watch the video below to see what she had to say to her fans.
She captioned the video, “Please help us spread the word to help our fellow sisters and brothers in need #UnitedForPuertoRico #UnidosPorPuertoRico.” And her fans were quick to show their support and encouragement. One follower wrote, “Thank you J.Lo for being there for our people of Puerto Rico.” Another added, “Yes and hoping yours, mine, and everyone’s families are safe and we can actually hear from them sooner than later.”
And she’s not the only celebrity who has family suffering after the hurricanes. Singer Ricky Martin was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and posted a plea to his own fans on Instagram as well. “Puerto Rico needs you at the moment. Just go to youcaring.com/rickymartin and help us. Donate whatever you can, just one dollar would make a difference. If everyone would give me a dollar, my goodness. Puerto Rico is in a precarious position at the moment. We can’t do it alone. We need you.” We hope that Jennifer and Ricky hear good news from their family members soon and that the beautiful island is able to recover from the damage!
