Jennifer Lopez Reflects on First Valentine’s Day With Alex Rodriguez and It’s Actually so Sweet
Romance isn’t dead, people! Jennifer Lopez sat down with Jimmy Kimmel to reflect on her first Valentine’s Day with her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez. Although the two started dating just before the loved-up holiday, the former baseball player made sure the singer knew he was thinking about her.
“It was nice because it was a couple of weeks later,” the 49-year-old recalled about the first time they celebrated February 14 as a freshly-minted duo. It turns out, the fact that they were so new made the whole thing very low pressure.
“I remember I was doing my show in Vegas and I got to Vegas and I was tired and there was all these flowers and chocolates and a cake and everything and I was like, ‘Who sent me all that?’ I didn’t know who it was kind of, because it was kind of new. But it was really nice because it made me feel like, ‘Oh, you like me!'”
Even long distance, the 43-year-old was sure to shower his new lady with sweet treats. “We’re kind of generous gift givers, I think. I mean, you know, we work hard,” the songstress added. It’s not surprising that they pull out all the stops on holidays, Valentine’s Day included.
Considering they’ve been together for two years, we would say turning on the charm definitely worked. The pair just celebrated their anniversary and seem more in love than ever. “Two years of laughter. Two years of fun. Two years of adventures. Of excitement of growing and learning. Of true friendship. And so much love!!” the “On The Floor” singer wrote on Instagram.
She continued, “You make my world a more beautiful safe and stable place … in the midst of our ever-changing, ever-moving life … you make me feel like a teenager starting out all over again.”
