‘Jersey Shore’ Star “The Situation” Can’t Pay Attorney in Tax Fraud Case – “I Really Don’t Have Much Left in the Bank”

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from The Jersey Store hit a snag in his tax fraud trial – he can’t afford to pay his attorney!

According to The Record, his lawyer asked to be removed from the case because the 33-year-old could no longer pay him.

“I definitely need some time to find a new attorney because I really don’t have much left in the bank,” he admitted.

The reality TV star, who is currently on WE’s Marriage Boot Camp, submitted an affidavit about his finances, but was denied the opportunity for a free, court-appointed attorney.

“While certainly your finances may be strained to some degree, I didn’t feel that it was appropriate to assign,” U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton said. “You may have to change some things that you do in your lifestyle to possibly make some room for the payment and retention of counsel.”

Sorrentino and his brother Marc were indicted on charges of “knowingly and intentionally conspire and agree with each other and others to defraud the United States.”
