‘Dance Moms’ Star JoJo Siwa Has Big Plans With Abby Lee Miller Now That She’s Free
It looks like Abby Lee Miller still has a Dance Moms star in her corner. Following her release from jail last month, JoJo Siwa revealed that she has been in touch with her former teacher and the duo already have plans in the works!
“I have spoken to her. We actually FaceTimed the other day. She was super nice, we talked about Easter and going to see The Greatest Showman,” she told People magazine. And while Abby has a reputation for being tough with her dance students, JoJo only has nice things to say about the reality star. “I have a lot of respect for Abby and she taught me a lot of things, not only about dance but simple things like manners in a restaurant,” JoJo added.
Before spending eight months behind bars for bankruptcy fraud, JoJo was one of the few Dance Moms alums to support Abby. “Honestly, I have a lot to thank her for because truthfully, she helped me out a whole bunch,” she said last year. “Another [piece of] advice she gave me is you’ve got to be able to put your heart out on a platter and be ready for someone to stab it.”
Meanwhile, her BFF Maddie Ziegler quickly distanced herself from the troubled reality star and revealed she is no longer in contact with Abby. “I don’t really think I have anything to say about her,” she told Entertainment Tonight when asked about Abby’s legal troubles. In another interview, she continued to downplay Abby’s role in her success. “I’m really glad that I did move on from that, and I did learn a lot from her and we did have some fun times,” she explained. “But I feel like now, I’ve never been happier in my life.”
Since her release, rumor has it that Abby is working on her big comeback — and we are here for it. “Technically everyone’s contracts are still in effect, so it depends on if there is interest for people to see Abby again,” a source close to Dance Moms production said. “We might be working with her, but we also might not be.” Abby is currently residing in a halfway house until her official release date in May.
