Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Relationship Timeline: A Look Back at Their Complicated Love Story
Ups and downs. Kim Kardashian and estranged husband Kanye “Ye” West were one of the most iconic couples in Hollywood, but sadly, their marriage is coming to a messy end.
After the reality star filed for divorce in February 2021, the former couple tried to form a healthy coparenting relationship. However, that dynamic soured after the reality star made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut in October 2021, beginning a romance with Pete Davidson later that month.
Since then, Ye has publicly called out his estranged wife in different ways. From the lyrics in his new single “Eazy” to his February 2022 Instagram post, disagreeing with Kim on daughter North’s social media usage, the rapper has been adding fuel to the fire throughout their ongoing divorce.
And even though the “Praise God” artist isn’t thrilled about Kim and Pete’s friendship-turned-romance, Ye started a relationship with actress Julia Fox in early 2022.
Kim and the “Flashing Lights” rapper, who share children North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, were together for over a decade after they first crossed paths. Before they dated, the duo initially formed a friendship, but it didn’t take too long for their relationship to turn romantic. From their flirtatious interactions to welcoming their first child and getting married in Italy, they’ve been through it all — including tough times.
The Kardashian-West family endured their fair share of heartache when they were together. Yet, they supported each other through public scandals and family emergencies, including one terrifying instance in which Kim was robbed at gunpoint. In 2016, the reality star was bound and gagged as masked assailants stole $10 million worth of jewelry.
When Ye found out about the crime, he was performing a concert in New York. Though he was mid-set, he immediately rushed off the stage to be with his wife and kids. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Family emergency, I have to stop the show,” he said at the time.
By July 2020, it appeared the couple were struggling in their marriage, especially when Ye decided to run for president. At the time, he opened up about some seriously personal moments at a campaign rally — including how he initially wanted his wife to have an abortion after she accidentally got pregnant with North. As the Kardashians urged Kim to “step in,” Kanye went on a Twitter rant about how his wife was trying to “lock him up.”
In the past, the couple have always had each other’s backs in public. Now, that dual support seems to have faded.
