Addiction wasn't the only hurdle Khloé Kardashian's marriage to Lamar Odom had to overcome.
On the new episode of Kocktails with Khloé, the reality star opens up to her famous guests about her controversial relationship, and how she experienced racism in the midst of it.
"I was in an interracial marriage," the 31-year-old says. "I would never think to have to say, 'Oh, by the way — my husband's black, so when he comes in, don't let your jaw drop.'"
However, it wasn't until she left California with her husband for his NBA career that Khloé really experienced racial prejudice.
"When I moved to Dallas was the first time that was thrown in my face," the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star reveals. "Racism is real."
This isn't the first time a Kardashian member has spoken out about racism. In 2014, Kim Kardashian wrote an essay detailing how a woman verbally assaulted her daughter North on a plane.
"To be honest, before I had North, I never really gave racism or discrimination a lot of thought," she said. "But recently, I’ve read and personally experienced some incidents that have sickened me and made me take notice. I realize that racism and discrimination are still alive, and just as hateful and deadly as they ever have been."
