Kris Jenner Is Unrecognizable as a Blonde While Walking the 2019 Met Gala Red Carpet
OMG! Kris Jenner looked unrecognizable with platinum blonde hair at the 2019 Met Gala. The momager walked the red carpet with her longtime boyfriend, Corey Gamble, and they looked incredible. Leave it to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians matriarch to outdo everyone.
“A couple of hours ago Kylie [Jenner] decided that I should be blonde so that was wild,” the 63-year-old admitted on the red carpet about her unexpected new hairdo. “She was like, ‘Mom, there is no black hair tonight — you’re going as a blonde.'” We love the last minute change!
While it’s common to see a lot of celebs wearing a ballgown at the iconic event, the E! star opted for a navy blue jumpsuit. “Well, my advice to anyone going to the Met Gala in the future is to wear pants because I am so comfortable. Tommy Hilfiger designed the coat,” she gushed.
The famous designer and his wife also attended the show. They each wore a glittering Americana-themed ensemble so it’s easy to see where the inspiration for Kris’ look came from. To fit into the theme of this year’s prestigious soiree and add a bit of unexpected flair, the mom-of-five paired her chic jumpsuit with a massive, sparkly tulle jacket. The exaggerated shoulders and the sheer volume of the piece definitely made a statement.
“Notes on ‘Camp’ provides the framework for the exhibition, which examines how the elements of irony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration are expressed in fashion,” according to the official website.
As far as what “camp” means to her, Kris is right in her element. She confessed, “It’s how I dressed all through the 80’s … Channeling David Bowie.” She added, “It’s a great night, so yes, having fun.”
Kris definitely went for a surprising look this year and we adore it. Keep slaying, mama!
