It’s official! The second season of the hit CW show Riverdale is set to air tonight, and fans are really looking forward to seeing Mark Consuelos take on the highly anticipated role of Hiram Lodge — aka Veronica’s father. Though Hiram played a huge role in the first season, he doesn’t make his first appearance until Season 2, and honestly, how much better looking could they have made him?!

Back in September, the 46-year-old actor opened up to Entertainment Weekly about portraying the infamous character. “I like to say he’s like Jaws,” Kelly Ripa’s hubby told the outlet. “You didn’t see him. You knew he was there. There’s danger there. His presence is felt.”

There’s sure to be a lot of drama this season, and we think Hiram will be at the root of some of it! “He loves loves loves his family and he’s fiercely protective over all of that and anything that has anything to do or comes into contact with his family,” Mark said. “Also, he probably loves power a little bit too. He’s enamored with that.” Watch the video below for everything we know about the second season!

Besides the drama from Hiram, Mark’s on-screen daughter Camila Mendes told Entertainment Weekly that Veronica and Archie’s relationship is set to get even steamier. “We’re even more sexual now,” Camila said. “Death brings out certain passions or thirst for life. So they’ve definitely been friskier. But I think now because of all this darkness and stuff in Archie’s life and Veronica’s as well, their relationship does feel more grounded. It has more substance than just physical.”

And, of course, on-and-off-screen couple Cole Spouse and Lili Reinhart — aka Jughead and Betty — are going to face some major changes. In an interview with E! News from July, the whole cast spilled about the rollercoaster to come.

“It’s kind of a Romeo and Juliet situation between the two of them,” Lili said. “There’s a civil war kind of going on in Riverdale, and he’s on the south side, she’s on the north side, and you gotta choose a side basically. It might cause some problems.” Is it Oct. 11 yet?!
