Proof Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Biggest Fans Were Always Mary-Kate and Ashley

Then 15, Mary-Kate and Ashley couldn't bear the thought of working without each other. When posed with the possibility, Ashley was doubtful that they'd try separate ventures. "Maybe she directs and I act, or I act and she directs, and I think we'll always have some things going on together."

Though the acting and directing thing didn't pan out, MK & A did continue to be collaborators managing labels like The Row and Elizabeth and James. And clearly, Mary-Kate credits their success to working together in perfect synchronicity.

In 2013, Mary-Kate and Ashley were set to dispell public misconceptions about them. One thing rang true though: they're both unfailingly supportive of one another.

We remember when the Olsen twins were caught doing rapid hand clasps after The Row's Fall 2018 show. And weird as it seems, an old E! interview revealed that it's a secret message they use to calm each other down when walking through a crowd hand-in-hand. So precious!

Awww! When InStyle asked the Olsens to describe one another, Ashley really sang her twin's praises. Mary-Kate, for her part, summed up Ashley concisely: "loving and consistent."

In 2008, Mary-Kate was still trying to strike it on her own as an actress, marking a slight stray from the "Olsen Twins" package. Nevertheless, she struggled to explain that there's nothing quite like the connection she shares with her sister. "Unless you’re a twin, you honestly can’t know how close twins can be," she told Elle.

"People can think what they want. If I'm happy and my sister's happy, that's all that really matters." – Ashley Olsen
