On Season 4 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Whitney Thore’s Big Girl Dance Class was challenged to their first-ever dance battle by rival school Trophy Wife Fitness. When instructor Jiya criticized Whitney’s style and choreography, she knew she had to step up her game — that’s when she reached out to choreographer Jenzi Russell!
Jenzi came to save the day — and even though she clashed with Whitney because of her very abrasive teaching style, she still showed up on the last day before the dance battle to help them go through last-minute tweaks. She’s begun her own weight loss journey
She shared a video clip on Instagram where she got extremely candid about her new diet and fitness goals.
“So I just finished taking [a] class in LA with one of my favorite choreographers — now I’m eating a salad,” she told her followers. “This is so hard, I’m going on maybe a week and a half and honey, when I tell y’all I just want a burger and some chips, but I’ve been eating salads — no soda. I’m trying to work on my body — I still wanna stay thick and curvy but I really gotta make sure that I’m healthy.”
She teased her collaboration with Whitney
The ladies posed together in this Snapchat filter selfie and Jenzi added the hashtag “#WaitOnIt.”
She’s worked with some big names
Jenzi has done choreography for Amber Rose's annual SlutWalk and Dance Moms star Nia Sioux's music video "Slay."
She might be getting her own show
She’s open about her identity
During her scenes on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Whitney refers to Jenzi with female pronouns, but she revealed in an Instagram post from nearly a year ago that she was born a man.
