If you find yourself bothered by the various photos floating around the Internet of women breastfeeding their children, odds are you’re not going to be a fan of the woman who’s doing the same thing — but with her pants down while sitting on the toilet.
Elisha Wilson Beach, wife of Michael Beach, who’s known for his roles on ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ ‘Third Watch’ and ‘ER,’ had no problem showing how unglamorous motherhood can be as her child latched onto her breast while she went to the bathroom.
“This is motherhood and it ain’t always pretty. What’s your #momtruth? #motherhood #motherhoodaintpretty #tmi #confessionsofamom #ididthat #iamnotsorry,” she captioned the controversial photo.
Social media followers were quick to criticize the mother, claiming her actions were “unhygienic.”
“How can you say this picture is beautiful? I think it’s very distasteful,” one user wrote, while another said it was “disgusting.”
The mother eventually took to Facebook to defend herself. “Everybody complains that social media is full of people pretending to live picture perfect lives and I see so many mothers doubting themselves,” she said. “I shared it on Instagram knowing that some people would think it’s TMI but it’s reality.”
Despite the criticism, Beach still managed to connect with some of the fellow mothers on social media — and they appreciated how unapologetic she was about her life.
“This pretty much sums up mommyhood,” one follower said.
