Has plus-size model Robyn Lawley fallen victim to the fashion industry’s high standards of what a model is supposed to look like?
The 24-year-old, who built her career on having a fuller figure, sparked controversy today when she Instagrammed a bodfie (selfie + body), which showed off her slimmed-down frame.
“The best kind of exercise? The one when you jump and dance around like there’s no tomorrow to awesome music!!” she captioned the image.
The pic shows the Australian beauty from the neck down. She wears a coral sports bra and black yoga pants.
Many of the Robyn’s 44,000+ followers began commenting on the model’s apparent weight loss.
“Yeah, how are you plus size?? Uhhhh…..no!” one user wrote, with another adding, “This is NOT plus size!”
While some users questioned her plus-size status, others commended Robyn for her healthy image.
“So beautiful, you’re such an inspiration!” wrote one fan. A second admirer commented, “Looking amazing!”
The photo comes on the heels of Robyn’s photo shoot with two other plus-size models, Jada Sezer and Shareefa J, for Swimsuits for All. The trio made headlines for recreating the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover and passing along a healthy body image message.
