Is that you, dawg? American Idol alum Randy Jackson is taking the headlines by storm after an extreme weight loss transformation. Watch the video to see what he looks like today!

Fans of the bassist may recall back in 2001 when Randy was diagnosed with type two diabetes, then two years later underwent gastric bypass surgery — which resulted in losing 100 pounds. He previously opened up to Web MD about the life-changing experience.

“I grew up in the South, where food and good times were king,” he told the publication. However, he was able to adjust to new diet and exercise habits in a timely fashion. “I am very attuned to knowing when I have had enough. The signal to stop eating is going to come from your body, not an empty plate,” he said at the time.

When it came to fitness, the former reality star credited the treadmill and yoga for contributing to his slim-down. “It’s right there staring at me, going, ‘Come here. You know you need this,’ [and] that makes the ugliness worth it,” he quipped of the treadmill he placed in his bedroom. “I have become accustomed to yoga, and I love the stretching and how it makes my body feel better and looser.”

Since his days spent in one of three American Idol judge’s chairs, Randy has kept quite busy. Back in September, he launched Starwest Studios alongside Richard G. Stewart Jr. and Sammy Oriti to launch Starwest Studios — a Burbank, CA-based, full-service production facility. He also revealed over the summer that he was tapped for the Idol reboot, but would only host alongside the OG host and his pal Ryan Seacrest — who wound up getting the gig anyway!

“They wanted me to take Ryan Seacrest’s job, because they said ‘Look man, look, you got it. You know how to do it, dog,'” he told [Entertainment Tonight](http://www.etonline.com/news/218853exclusiverandyjacksondishesonidolreboottheywantedmetotakeryanseacrestjob)_ in June. “I would only host with Ryan. He’s my friend.”
