‘RHOC’ Star Kelly Dodd Blasts Husband in Divorce Announcement: “I’m out of There!”
No playing nice for the cameras! Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd announced on Wednesday, Sept. 27, that she’s getting a divorce from her husband of 11 years Michael, and wants to finalize it ASAP!
“Our marriage is over, I’m out of there!” the 42-year-old said in an interview with the Daily Mail. “We’ve had problems for years and I’ve had enough. I’m done with our marriage. It’s just a case where two people can’t get along. It’s best if we went our separate ways and concentrate on our daughter [Jolie].”
She added, “We aren’t good together. Maybe we’ll be better to each other when we are divorced and are friends. But right now we are both miserable and it’s not good for either one of us, let alone our daughter. Over the past several years we’ve had our ups and downs, and lately it’s been mostly downs.”
Kelly initially filed for divorce from the businessman in 2012, but they later reconciled. Recent reports claim police visited the couple’s Newport Beach, CA, home six times in July alone. “I filed for divorce against Michael in 2012 and we never had any resolution,” she shared. “The case was just sitting there. So I’m going to ask my attorney to file a motion so I can get a bifurcated divorce.” A bifurcated divorce allows spouses to become legally divorced before the details have been finalized.
“I want out of my marriage as soon as possible,” Kelly continued. “We can figure out the financials of our divorce down the road.”
Michael has a rocky history with his wife’s Bravo cohorts, mainly exec Andy Cohen. In a series of tweets last year, he trashed Watch What Happens Live as a “crap show.” Andy responded, “Oh my god, it’s that moment where I find out I’m being trashed on Twitter by a Real Housewife‘s husband… I am very proud of my little talk show, Michael Dodd.” We hope the estranged spouses can remain amicable for the sake of their daughter.
