On April 29, Brad Womack flew fiancée Emily Maynard to Austin, Texas, for a final attempt to save their relationship, but the three-day weekend was anything but a happy one. Now, the new issue of Life & Style--on newsstands nationwide Friday--has all the exclusive details and photos inside the couple's tense reunion and their emotional goodbye.
Brad picked up Emily from the airport on Friday after being apart from her since April 9, however instead of a hug or kiss hello, the two went straight to lunch at The Oasis on Lake Travis, where, an onlooker tells Life & Style, the pair seemed awkward, uncomfortable and distant. In between dining out, the two spent much of the weekend holed up in Brad's apartment--Brad clearly had a lot to discuss with Emily.
As Life & Style previously reported, Emily called Brad just weeks earlier to tell him the relationship was over and that she didn't think she could marry him. According to a source, Brad was left stunned and hurt that Emily, 25, wasn't willing to try as hard as he was to keep their love alive.
"We're taking it one day at a time," Brad told Life & Style on May 2.
But Brad's mom, Pamela, is telling friends her son is heartbroken. "She says he's really ready for a family and now has to deal with this," the friend tells Life & Style. "It's not fair. She says that Emily isn't the woman she acted like on The Bachelor. Pamela thinks it's because Emily's too young."
On May 2, after spending an intense three days together, Brad took Emily to the airport, where they shared a final hug goodbye before she headed back to Charlotte, N.C.
