It was the story that had people around the globe on the edge of their seats. Everyone was led to believe that six-year-old Falcon Heene, also known as “Balloon Boy,” was stuck inside of a gas balloon that floated as high as 7,000 feet. But now, almost eight years later, we’re wondering, whatever happened to him?

Incase you’re not already familiar with the story, Falcon’s parent’s actually fooled the world into thinking that he was stuck in a homemade gas balloon that flew as high as 7,000 feet. The story was reported by major news outlets and it quickly garnered tons of attention worldwide. Before we knew it, the boy had already earned the nickname “Balloon Boy” on social media and even celebrities were putting their two cents in.Check out the video below to see what Balloon Boy is up to these days!

After an hour of suspense, the balloon finally landed and to everyone’s surprise, Falcon was nowhere to be found. But we didn’t have to worry for long, because later that same day, he was discovered hiding in the attic of his own home.

Understandably, everyone started to question whether the whole thing was a hoax. And as if to confirm everyone's suspicions, Falcon himself spilled the truth in an interview that he and his family were doing with CNN.“You guys said that we did this for the show," he said out loud. Yikes!

But believe it or not, to this day, Falcon's parents still argue that the whole thing was never fake. Richard admitted that he only pleaded guilty because he was afraid of his wife being deported. "When that came on the table, I had to take the deal that they proposed to me. So my attorney said, 'Richard, it's only a 90-day stay.' And that was a long time for me, but it really went by quickly," he said regarding his sentence of 90 days in jail.

But the family drama aside, we were pretty intrigued when we found out what Falcon has been up to all this time. In fact, let's just say he took on a hobby that none of us would've expected! Check out the video above to see what Balloon Boy, aka Falcon Heene, is up to now!
