Weeks after Glee star Cory Monteith's death at the age of 31, his mother Ann has spoken out for the first time.

Ann, Cory's brother Shaun, and Cory's girlfriend/co-star Lea Michele were reportedly the only people present when Cory's body was cremated. Cory died of an accidental overdose of heroin and alcohol while staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, just days before he was due back in Los Angeles to film the upcoming fifth season of Glee.
Lea Michele & Ryan Murphy Gather 'Glee' Cast for a Memorial to Remember Cory Monteith
In Ann's Twitter bio, she identifies herself as "Canadian mom, actor mom, designer/decorator,dancer, supporter of Woodwynn Therapeutic Farm in BC, and Close To Home (support for loved ones of people in need)." She follows many Cory and Glee-related Twitter accounts, including several that have been set up following his death.
The tweet from Cory's mom comes shortly after other members of the Glee cast and crew also broke their silences about their colleague's death. The show's producers and writers, including creator Ryan Murphy, had to rewrite storylines for the next season of Glee, which heavily featured Cory's character Finn Hudson. Finn and Lea's character Rachel Berry were also together on the show.
