In a revealing interview just days after completing a three-month rehab stint, Lindsay Lohan confessed on Oprah’s Next Chapter she blames no one else but herself for her troubled past — but her father, Michael Lohan, couldn’t disagree more.

“I don’t think she should have taken any of the blame for what happened to her,” Michael exclusively tells Life & Style. “It’s my fault and Dina's fault. We put her in the middle of the divorce. Now it’s up to me and Dina to make this better."

Michael, who divorced Lindsay mother, Dina Lohan, in October 2007, explains that though the family has had its problems, Lindsay’s addiction has reunited them. “The healing in our family has really helped a lot,” Michael explains. “We really came together in helping her.”

And it looks like the actress is already showing signs that she's a changed woman. “I think she has really turned a corner on this,” her dad tells Life & Style. “Lindsay is back to who she was, a very kindhearted and compassionate person.”

Not everyone is confident Lindsay will stay clean, but with hard work and the right support team, Michael is convinced she has a fighting chance. “This is different than in the past," he explains. "She has finally surrendered and is taking her life seriously."
