Robin Thicke brought his wife, actress Paula Patton, to tears during a benefit show in New York City, an eyewitness tells Life & Style.
Thicke was performing his hit song 'Blurred Lines' at the Time Warner Cable & MTV VMA Concert benefiting LifeBEAT on Friday evening.
According to the eyewitness, "Robin Thicke opened his show with Blurred Lines and Paula was dancing like crazy!"
"Then he spoke to the crowd to open the show. He said, 'I wrote this song when 'we' were going through some tough times.'"
That's when things got emotional for Paula.
"When he said that, Paula was tearing up -- but in a good way. Guess they're in a better place now."
"The song he then sang was 'Lost Without U.' She seems so super in love, it was really sweet."
Thicke and Patton have been married since 2005. They welcomed son Julian Fuego in April 2010.
Thicke is nominated for three VMA awards tonight.
