Tara Reid Reveals Her Father Died in Emotional Instagram Post
Tara Reid announced on Friday, Dec. 30, that her father has died, sharing a photo of the duo on Instagram.
“Today, I've received terrible news that my father, Thomas Reid, has passed away. He was a man full of life, love, wisdom, and strength. He was not only fun and in good spirits, but he was also one of the best story tellers I've ever heard,” the American Pie actress wrote.

“My dad was so supportive, kind, strong, and my hero. He was my heart, my soul, and my entire world. I love you and will miss you so much daddy! #RIPDADDYREID,” she added. In the image, the Sharknado star can be seen hugging her father tightly with her arms wrapped around his waist.
News of his death comes just a few days after Tara spent Christmas with her family, including mom Donna. She is the second of the couple’s four children. The 41-year-old posted a pic from their gathering, writing, “At home at my parents for christmas and I just saw my doggie again. I love my dog!”
She captioned another snap, “Merry Christmas I love you all! Feels so good be around my family.”
Unfortunately, Tara isn’t in the States at the moment, having flown to Hong Kong on Dec. 29 for a New Year’s Eve appearance. “So excited! Leaving for Hong Kong in the morning! To see some friends and celebrate the New Years there!” the star tweeted before her flight.
Tara has since received an outpouring of support from fans on her multiple social media accounts. “Sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and your family,” one follower wrote on Instagram, while another added, “Prayers for you and your family during these trying times for you. Nothing but love from a fan.”
