In the latest issue of Life & Style, an insider reveals that while there is some truth to the recent rivalry between Fast & Furious stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel, the beef is largely a publicity stunt to amp up drama for a WWE wrestling match — and to help promote the April 2017 release of Fast 8.

“They are playing a huge prank, and it’s all for publicity,” the insider shares.

On Aug. 8, The Rock called a few unidentified male costars “candy asses” on Instagram, and Vin promptly outed himself as one of the actors he was referring to.

“The Rock convinced Vin to amp up the drama between them so they could turn it into a WWE match to help promote the April 2017 release of Fast 8,” the insider explains.
