Ali Fedotowsky Talks Muscle Loss, Holiday Weight and Prioritizing Health
Ali Fedotowsky is being candid with fans about a recent shift she’s noticed in her body and how it’s motivating her to refocus on her health.
In a series of Instagram Stories shared December 27, the former Bachelorette explained that changes in her weight and muscle tone prompted her to reassess her current habits.
“At first, I was fine with it cause it looked like I had gained more muscle,” Ali wrote on Instagram Stories December 27, “but now my muscles going down and my weight went up, which is the opposite of what I want to happen.”
The 41-year-old said she decided to speak publicly about it as a way to hold herself accountable and recommit to prioritizing her well-being. She acknowledged enjoying herself over the holidays, but made it clear she’s ready to move in a different direction.
“I let myself indulge this holiday season and I don’t regret it,” she continued, “but it’s definitely not a path I wanna continue.”
Ali—who shares daughter Molly Sullivan, 9, and son Riley Doran, 7, with her husband of eight years, Kevin Manno emphasized that the shift she’s making isn’t driven by a number on the scale. Instead, her focus is on how strong she feels.
“It’s not necessarily about weight,” she explained, adding that it’s really “about strength.”
“I’m in my 40s,” she wrote, “and strength is the most important thing for women my age.”
Encouraging her followers to come along for the ride, Ali described her goal as building strength rather than chasing thinness. She reiterated that the changes she’s making are rooted in wanting to feel better overall.
“I just truly have been feeling crummy from eating so much bad food this holiday season,” Ali explained. “And I’m really starting to feel my body changing now that I’m in my 40s and I just want to be healthy and strong for my family and myself for years to come!”
This isn’t the first time the reality TV alum has pushed herself physically. Ali previously opened up about the intense training she underwent ahead of competing on season three of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, where fitness became a full-time commitment.
“I lost 20 pounds training for the show,” she recalled to Us Weekly in 2024. “I was working out two to three times a day. My whole day.”
