It’s a battle of the hosts! Season 12 of America’s Got Talent is only a few weeks away from its big finale and Tyra Banks will be wrapping up her first full season as host for the popular NBC talent competition series. But even though viewers have been tuning in all season to watch their favorite contestants battle it out to be the 2017 winner, they’re still missing the show’s previous host — so how exactly do they stack up against each other in a Tyra vs. Nick Cannon comparison?

Now that the series has entered into Week 3 of the quarterfinals, all of the remaining contestants are returning to perform their acts live for judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel. But hosting the live shows seemed to prove to fans that Tyra is just not cut out for the job, and many of them took to Twitter to call out her “awkward” presence and they said it’s clear she’s “trying too hard” for the cameras.

“[AGT has] the most talented acts this season but Tyra is making it almost unwatchable. Sorry! Bring back [Nick Cannon],” one fan wrote, while another commented, “Love love AGT, but I miss Nick Cannon, he added a lot to your show, please bring him back.”

While the majority of fans think Tyra “sucks” and her hosting skills are a “joke,” some viewers think she’s actually doing a good job during her first season. “I was skeptical [because] [Nick Cannon] was so great, but I love [Tyra Banks] on [America’s Got Talent],” one fan tweeted.

It’s almost unfair to compare Tyra to Nick because they both have such different careers. Tyra comes from a modeling background and her previous hosting gigs included her talk show The Tyra Banks Show (2005-2009) and her long-running modeling competition series America’s Next Top Model. Meanwhile, Nick got his big break as a teenager on Nickelodeon’s All That and his comedic skills are what made him a fan favorite on AGT and it’s why fans love his current show, Wild ‘N Out.
