It Looks Like Emily Blunt and John Krasinski Skipped the 2019 Oscars
It looks like one of Hollywood’s cutest couples decided to skip the 2019 Oscars. Regardless, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski continue to show the world why they’re relationship goals. The British actress, 35, and The Office alum, 39, have made their fair share of appearances this awards season.
Last week, the pair showed up to the 2019 Writers Guild Awards in New York City wearing literal matching outfits, and we loved everything about it. Whether it’s with fashion or their careers, these two continuously prove how right they are for each other.
At the SAG Awards in January, Emily won for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her work in A Quiet Place and her hubby’s reaction was the sweetest. John couldn’t help but smile as his wife gave her speech. Once the camera turned on him as she took the stage, he was seen tearing up a bit. Aw!
It’s not the first time his wife makes him emotional in public. In an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, he told the host, 61, a funny story of his experience watching Emily in Mary Poppins Returns.
“The first time I saw it, they give you a tissue box in the screening room, and I thought, ‘Oh, that’s very nice. I don’t have a cold,'” he said.
Then the waterworks came. “And they started screening the movie and 25 minutes into the movie, I stood up and went to the back of the room.” He added, “I was crying so much I blew through the tissue box in 20 minutes, had to go to the napkins, and then when I ran out of napkins it was all sweater.”
Though Emily was snubbed from an Oscar nomination for her performance in Mary Poppins Returns, the film is still up for Best Original Music Score, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design. Similarly, A Quiet Place turned out to be a hit, however, none of the actors received nods.
It’s OK because Emily and John are winners no matter what!
