She’s got Britt’s back! As viewers have witnessed on Season 6 of Vanderpump Rules, Jax Taylor nearly ruined his relationship with girlfriend Brittany Cartwright after admitting to cheating on her with former SURver Faith Stowers. Though most of Brittany’s girlfriends encouraged her to break up with Jax for good, the Kentucky native’s good pal Scheana Marie supported her decision to stay with her man.
In an exclusive interview with Life & Style, Scheana, 32, explains why she made a concerted effort to maintain an optimistic attitude about Brittany’s choice to give Jax, 38, another shot . “I was 100 percent Team Brittany. But then when she chose to stay with Jax and none of the other girls were supporting her, I was just like, ‘You know what? That’s not fair,’” the “Shake That” singer recounts. “We can all say that if we were in her shoes, we would have left. But until you really are, you don’t know. And at the time when all this was happening, that wasn’t the only thing going on.”

Scheana notes that Jax’s later father, Ronald Cauchi — who sadly passed away at age 61 in December — was diagnosed with cancer around the same time he and Brittany, 29, were going through their infidelity ordeal. “There were things going on in her life, too. Despite him doing a terrible thing, they still were being there for each other,” the Bravolebrity says. “There were things that were bigger than what was going on in their lives.”
Plus, as Scheana points out, Kristen Doute and Stassi Schroeder — two of the women who pushed hard for Brittany to split from Jax, with whom they’ve both had messy relationships — do not have the best dating track records. “I don’t know if getting advice from all of Jax’s ex-girlfriends and former flames was a good idea. We need to let Brittany do what Brittany wants to do. I was one of the only ones supporting her decision to stay with him,” the brunette beauty tells Life & Style. “If this is what makes her happy and she sleeps just fine at night, it’s her life. Let her live her life. They were just so unsupportive, saying things like, ‘You need to leave him, he’s a piece of s--t.’”
She adds, “It was really hard for Brittany and I think she needed to know that if she wanted to stay with him, I wasn’t going to turn my back on her and that she still had a support system. So I chose to just support whatever she wanted because at the end of the day, it’s her life.”
And, according to Scheana, Brittany and Jax are doing better than ever these days. “They’re doing really, really well. It’s obviously been an insanely hard time for Jax after his dad passed away. But she’s right by his side and she’s been there for him. I think sometimes really s--tty, bad situations can bring people closer together. And I think that’s what this has done. If they can get through all that and come out on top, then more power to them,” she says of the duo. “Maybe some people should look up to them instead of putting them down.”
Of course, Scheana doesn’t condone Jax’s actions — but she does applaud his and Brittany’s perseverance as a couple. “What he did is not OK by any means, but if she can forgive it and they can move on from it, that’s her decision and it’s her life,” the Las Vegas headliner tells Life & Style. “So I think the girls should try supporting her a little more instead of telling her what to do.”
Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo Mondays at 9 p.m. EST.
