Retail Therapy! Ariel Winter Goes Shopping in L.A. While Rocking a Crop Top and Skinny Jeans

Is this not the cutest little summertime outfit you’ve ever seen? Of course, the fact that those jeans fit Ariel like a darn glove don’t hurt. The longtime Modern Family star is looking more fit than ever these days, don’t you think? Well, that’s not a coincidence. As it happens, Ariel recently opened up about losing a bunch of weight. “For years I had been on antidepressants that caused me to gain weight that I couldn’t lose no matter what I did,” she explained during an Instagram Q&A after a fan asked why she was “so thin.”

“It was always frustrating for me because I wanted to be able to get fit and feel like the work I was doing was paying off, but it never felt that way,” Ariel continued. “I had accepted it and moved on. I stayed on those medications for so long because the process is really long and difficult. I wasn’t ready to go through it again so I just accepted the feeling ‘eh’ instead of trying to find something to actually feel better.”

The Sofia the First alum went on to explain that eventually, she knew it was time for a change. “I started the process again and was able to find a great combination of medication that works for me.”  You go, Ariel! That’s so awesome. “The change in medication instantly made me drop all of the weight I couldn’t lose before by just giving me back my metabolism. That was very unexpected,” she confessed. 

Unexpected, indeed! Ariel revealed that she didn’t necessarily have intentions of losing so much weight. “It’s nice to work out and have your body actually respond, but I want to gain a few pounds of muscle and get healthier. Also … I want my butt back,” she concluded. Either way, we think she looks fabulous.
