After less than one year of marriage, Audrina Patridge has filed for divorce from husband Corey Bohan. The Hills star has also been granted a temporary restraining order against the BMX athlete after an alleged domestic violence incident.
It seems like she made the right decision for herself and her daughter especially since Us Weekly reports that Corey recently changed the locks, ransacked her room, and stole her wedding rings. Sources told In Touch that the reality star's friends are relieved she finally left her husband. "He treated her so badly. He was controlling and manipulative their entire marriage," a friend revealed. "She was scared and didn’t want her daughter growing up like that.”
According to TMZ, court records indicate the divorce was triggered when Corey, 35, pushed Audrina, 32, while she was holding their 15-month-old daughter Kirra Max. "He wasn’t listening and kept following me, cussing, yelling at me. I had Kirra in my arms, trying to leave. [Corey] locked the door and pushed me back with her in my arms," Audrina wrote in her statement. "I begged him to please let me go and take Kirra somewhere else, I didn’t want her around all this."
She then explained how Corey began hurting himself by banging his head on a metal canister and proceeded to punch a hole in their bedroom wall. "I started crying and asked him please, don’t do this in front of Kirra. Let me take her to my parents," she added. "I am fearful of [Corey’s] temper because he cannot control his swearing and personal attacks on me, even when in the presence of our young daughter." You can read the full report on The Blast.
The split and abuse allegations come as a huge surprise to fans of the reality star, who recently gushed about her wedding. "I will never forget November 5th, 2016 — I had the best time of my life and can’t imagine it any other way," she wrote on her blog. However, this is reportedly not the first time her husband, who is now required to stay 100 ft. away from Audrina except on his supervised visitation days with Kirra, has lashed out.
“Over the years Audrina has had many instances where she’s been scared [by Corey] but she finally felt she couldn’t deal with the emotional abuse and fear any longer,” a source told People. “She realized that she needed to end things for good. She got the restraining order because she was afraid how he would retaliate when she filed for divorce, so she had to get some additional protection.”
The couple recently vacationed together and shared photos on Instagram. "Sunday Funday with the fam at our home away from home," she captioned the family photo. However, Corey recently set his Instagram account to private and Audrina has stopped following him.
Audrina's followers flooded her comments section to show their support for the brunette beauty. "Wishing the best for you and your beautiful daughter," one fan wrote before another added, "So sorry for what you're going through! Sending you love, prayers, and strength."
