Throwback Szn: Take a Look Back at Some of the Best Red Carpet Moments From the AMAs

The 2019 American Music Awards are happening on November 24 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and there is a slew of A-listers from the music industry slotted to appear. The glitzy celebration of the industry has been happening for nearly five decades, and stars like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, the Jonas Brothers, Gwen Stefani and Justin Bieber have appeared on the carpet multiple times through the years.

This year’s AMAs promises to be extra special because Ciara will be taking center stage for the first time ever. “I am so excited to finally share that I will be hosting this year’s @AMAs,” the 34-year-old tweeted on Thursday, November 14. “LIVE Sunday, November 24th at 8/7c on ABC! Let’s go!” The songstress isn’t the only one who is excited — fans flooded her feed praising the amazing choice.

“I wonder how many outfit changes, you know you love to slay,” one person quipped while noting her amazing sense of style. “Yes, Queen! So proud of you and this monumental year,” someone else gushed. “My excitement is over the roof about this, I’m gonna tune in for this reason alone,” another follower promised. “Yasss now I’ll definitely be watching congrats,” a separate response echoed.

Ciara is not only an amazing artist and performer but she always keeps it candid, which makes fans feel even more connected to her. She opened up about the power of makeup and how becoming a mother changed her outlook on beauty during Beautycon Festival Day 2 in Los Angeles on August 11. “I think it’s the idea of you wear the makeup, the makeup doesn’t wear you. And I had to really grab that idea. I kind of figured it out a little bit later in life,” she explained. “For me, I got to start feeling good about who I am before any brush is painted on my face … I’ve got to feel good about me, so I’m empowered because of that … I can be stripped down at home and extensionless and feel like I’m still fly, I’m still cute. That’s the attitude you want to have and I had to work on that to be very honest.” Preach it, mama!

Although this is the “Like a Boy” artist’s first time hosting, she has attended the awards show many times. Keep scrolling to see Ciara and other celebs’ AMAs throwbacks!
