‘Breaking Bad’ Actor Raymond Cruz Arrested After Allegedly Spraying Water on Women

Former Breaking Bad actor Raymond Cruz was arrested on Monday, September 8, on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after he allegedly sprayed a group of women with water.

The incident took place around 10:40 a.m. when Cruz, 60, was washing his car in front of his home in Los Angeles. “There was basically a dispute with the victim, which is when Cruz allegedly sprayed water towards the victim,” LAPD officer David Cuellar told People.

After the women called the police, Cruz was arrested. He has since been released and is scheduled to appear for a court hearing in October, according to Eyewitness News.

“Raymond is happy this is done with. He is a big supporter of law enforcement and has no criminal history whatsoever,” Cruz’s talent agent Raphael Berko said in a statement, per Eyewitness News. “He has no idea who these women are or why they were harassing him in front of his own home while he was trying to wash a car. They were not neighbors.”

Meanwhile, Berko also broke down the encounter while speaking to People. He claimed that a white minivan with three women parked “a half an inch” from Cruz’s bumper while he was washing his car. Cruz asked them to move their vehicle and they refused.

“He goes, ‘Come on, move your car. You’re not giving me room, and it’s going to get wet.’ So, he said, ‘Okay,’” Berko told the outlet. “He started to clean his car and then they started filming him.”

Berko went on to allege that he got their car wet with his hose by accident. “When he turned around to tell them to stop filming him, he was still hosing his car. And some of the water from his hose hit the front of his car and spilled on their car,” he said.

“And then believe it or not, one of them called the police,” Berko continued. “And somehow someone who’s never been arrested in his life, someone who played a police detective for 15 years on The Closer and Major Crimes, someone who lives in that neighborhood, was put in handcuffs and taken to jail.”

Berko added, “Raymond’s very grateful to all of the LAPD personnel at the police department because throughout the five hours of him being in their jail, the LAPD were all very, very gracious and nice to him and reassuring.”

Misdemeanor charges have yet to be filed against Cruz, according to People.
