Brooks Nader Confronted by Sisters In Intervention About ‘Dangerous’ Weight Loss Drugs
Brooks Nader’s sisters are stepping in after noticing alarming changes in the model’s health.
In episode 7 of Love Thy Nader, Brooks, 28, almost passed out during a brand deal at a workout class, prompting her to admit she had been taking a weight loss medication.
“I typically micro-dose GLP-1, this weight loss drug,” Brooks explained. “But now since I have Maxim coming up, and I’m probably gonna be half-naked, I’m upping my dose a little because I want to be extra snatched. But at the same time, the symptoms of the weight loss drug, they’ve gotten a lot worse recently.”
Her sisters, however, were concerned she was taking things too far.
Mary Holland, 26, acknowledged Brooks felt the need to use the medication “to maintain that success” in modeling but added, “she’s taking it a bit too far.” GLP-1, or glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, is prescribed for obesity or diabetes but has gained popularity in Hollywood for weight loss, reducing appetite and altering how the body breaks down sugar and fat.

After the workout, Brooks was found struggling to stay awake in the bathtub.
“She didn’t eat last night and she didn’t eat anything today,” Grace Ann, 25, shared in a confessional. “There is an enormous amount of pressure in the modeling industry in order to be a working model. I’ve felt it, everyone’s felt it. But Brooks puts an unrealistic amount of pressure on herself in order to maintain her appearance.”
Brooks tried to downplay the situation. “It’s not that big of a deal,” she said. “I’m nauseous, I’m tired. I do this all the time. I do, it’s fine.”
But her sisters weren’t convinced. “I’m seriously worried about her,” Grace Ann said. She added that Brooks is “really fatigued, she’s passing out, she’s throwing up.”
The next day, the sisters staged an intervention after discovering a basket of needles and multiple bottles of the medication.
“Just seeing all of the needles piled up in one place makes me realize the gravity of how deep she’s gone in it,” Mary Holland said. “This is different doctors, clearly. This is different pharmacies. That’s dangerous. She’s overprescribed. This amount is so concerning.”
Sarah Jane, 23, who has taken GLP-1 in the past, said, “Clearly something deeper is going on” but also acknowledged the pressures Brooks faces. “Modeling is something you don’t just get, you have to work for it. As sad as it is, there’s an unrealistic beauty standard to reach, and this helps you get there.”
Later, a psychologist mediated a conversation, where Brooks defended her choices:
“You’re using GLP-1 and not eating and so you’re tired, you can’t really complete a workout,” Grace Ann began. Brooks responded, “You guys shouldn’t be throwing stones because you’ve tried it and so have you.”
Her sisters agreed her dosage had become a problem, but Brooks emphasized the industry pressures. “Because every job I do, it’s like you have to fit into a certain standard and a certain measurement. … Agencies are encouraging them. My career has just started to take off, and I don’t think that it’s a coincidence that it just started to take off once I altered myself and lost weight, fixed my nose. All the things my team told me I needed to change, I did.”
Despite her sisters’ concern, Brooks said she plans to continue using the medication and only drink bone broth until her upcoming magazine shoot. “I know my sisters are coming from a place of love,” she admitted. “I think that I have maybe an unhealthy relationship with weight and food because of the industry that I’m in, but I don’t think that I have an eating disorder.”
