Cardi B’s Surprise Baby Announcement: Rapper Welcomes Son With Stefon Diggs
Cardi B just surprised fans with the announcement of her newest bundle of joy — and a brand-new era of her life.
The rapper, 33, revealed in a November 13 Instagram post that she quietly welcomed a baby boy with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, marking the couple’s first child together. The emotional reveal was tucked inside a reflective video of Cardi lip-syncing to her track “Hello,” where she opened up about major changes in her personal and professional worlds.
“My life has always been a combination of different chapters and different seasons. My last chapter was the beginning of a new season,” she wrote. “I brought new music and a new album to the world! A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve. This next chapter is Me vs. Me! It’s me against all odds me against everything meant to get in my way.”
Her son’s arrival came just weeks before Diggs turns 32. The New England Patriots wide receiver and the “WAP” rapper went public with their romance in June after sharing a cozy, PDA-filled yacht video on Instagram. Their relationship quickly heated up, with Cardi praising how “supportive” they’ve been of one another as she balanced new motherhood with the rollout of her second album, Am I the Drama, released in September.
On her Instagram Story, Cardi gave fans a tiny peek into her new mom life, excitedly showing off a pair of pink floral strollers and joking, “I just had a boy; I love this stroller!”
Cardi shared during a September CBS Mornings interview with Gayle King that she felt “very powerful” navigating pregnancy while continuing to work nonstop. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong… me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other,” she said.
The rapper is now a mom of four: the new baby boy with Diggs joins her three children with ex Offset — daughters Kulture and Blossom and son Wave. Cardi and Offset split after years of ups and downs, though she remains focused on raising their kids to be driven, grounded adults.
During an October appearance on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, she admitted her biggest parenting fear is laziness. “Please don’t be lazy,” she told him. “Don’t be a bum… Some people have the look, the intelligence, the talent… but they don’t go nowhere because they’re lazy.”
She added she’ll always help her kids financially but hopes they work hard to “become something.” “Please don’t be nothing,” she said. “That would be the worst disappointment they could ever do.”
