AwwChris Pratt Reportedly Asked Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Parents For Permission Before Proposing
Who doesn’t love a traditional man? Chris Pratt went above and beyond for his fiancée, Katherine Schwarzenegger, when he reportedly made sure to get her parents’ blessings before popping the big question.
According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, the Guardians of the Galaxy star, 39, asked for their approval weeks before he proposed. “Chris asked for Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s permission around Christmas,” the insider told the outlet. “Maria helped him with the proposal.” Aw! It obviously went well considering the couple is now engaged.
On Sunday, Jan. 13, the actor revealed the happy news on Instagram with a photo of the two embracing each other as Katherine, 29, showed off her stunning ring. “Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!” he wrote. The bride-to-be shared the same photo and captioned it, “My sweet love. Wouldn’t want to live this life with anyone but you.”
Their announcement was received very well from their loved ones, who have congratulated the couple. Katherine’s 25-year-old brother, Patrick, gave his seal of approval. “Love you brother,” he wrote on the Avengers actor’s Instagram. Even Chris’ ex-wife, Anna Faris, shared some kind words for the future newlyweds. “I’m so happy for you both!! Congratulations!” The former couple split up over a year ago and share custody of their 6-year-old son, Jack.
A source previously told Life & Style magazine that “Anna and Katherine chat on the phone all the time. They’ve even been known to make jokes about Chris’ bad habits! Chris is thrilled that there’s no drama. It’s like one big happy family,” adding that Anna is “relieved” her ex found a good woman, especially since she’s around their son so much.
