Chrissy Metz’s Transformation Photos: The ‘This Is Us’ Alum’s Then and Now Pictures

2016

Chrissy made her big break when she landed the role of Kate Pearson on This Is Us, which premiered in 2016. The series ended in 2022 after six seasons.

After the series finale aired, Chrissy revealed that she and her This Is Us family text every other day, sometimes daily.

“A new project or an award or, you know, anything — a cute picture on Instagram. We really try to stay in contact. I wish that I could see everybody more often,” she told Today at the time. “You know, not many people are in Nashville. That’s where I’ve been posted up for a bit. So yeah, it’s really lovely to have friendships that last.”

2018

Chrissy dazzled in an emerald green dress at the 70th Emmys, when This Is Us costar Ron Cephas Jones took home the award for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series for his role as William.

2021

Chrissy and her on camera brother Justin Hartley presented an award together at the Critics Choice Awards.

2023

The entertainer put her vocals on full display while performing at the America Salutes You concert.

2025

Chrissy danced with the wind while walking into the streets of New York City before her April 8, 2025, appearance on The View.

The Florida native showed off her 100-pound weight loss results while promoting her book, When I Talk to God, I Talk About Feelings.

Around the same time, Chrissy announced that she left California and moved to Nashville.

“It’s just a better quality of life here. Everything is 15 minutes away, and it’s just so much less stress,” she told E! News in April 2025. “There’s a lot going on [in L.A.]. There’s obviously great music, great food. I grew up in the South, so I’m used to sort of that hospitality—it feels more communal here. In L.A. it was always like, ‘Oh, you have an audition? What’s it for? Oh, you have an audition? What for?’ It was all very dog eat dog.”
