Chrissy has always been open to putting her health first, and even told Marie Claire that she “would love to go on The Biggest Loser, where it’s a concentrated thing.”

2018

Chrissy opened up about the dark side of her childhood and the mental and physical abuse she suffered from her stepfather because of her weight.

“My mom married Trigger at the courthouse. Soon, she was pregnant again, with another girl, Abigail. Trigger loved his two biological children … Me, not so much. My mother was always at work, so she didn’t see how he treated me,” she wrote in the book, referring to her stepdad as Trigger.

She later wrote, “I don’t remember why Trigger hit me the first time. He never punched my face. Just my body, the thing that offended him so much. He shoved me, slapped me, punched my arm. He would hit me if he thought I looked at him wrong. I remember being on the kitchen floor after he knocked me over, and I was begging to know what I did. He just shoved me hard with his foot.”

The Breakthrough star shared that she eventually waited to eat after her family was asleep, which led to her binge-eating habits.

“Trigger began weighing me. He’d get the scale from the bathroom and clang it hard on the kitchen floor. ‘Well, get on the damn thing!’” Chrissy shared in the memoir. “‘This is what you need to know.’”

2020

Chrissy had fans in awe when she performed “I’m Standing With You” at the Oscars for her role in Breakthrough. On stage, Chrissy donned a floor length black dress and a matching cape that covered her bare shoulders.

2024

Chrissy reflected on her childhood during an October 2024 appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show and shared how she didn’t have a typical relationship with her girlfriends.

“You look like none of your other friends and you can’t fit into any of the cute Wet Seal clothes that they can fit into,” she said at the time. “You’re like, ‘Oh, let me borrow your necklace.'” Chrissy added that “all the boys liked my friends — and I always felt like I was setting my friends up with cute boys.”

2025

Chrissy shot down Ozempic and tummy-tuck rumors while raving over her 100-pound weight loss experience.

“I have always enjoyed strength training. I’ve always enjoyed lifting weights, like I don’t want to run unless I’m being chased,” she told The Daily Mail in April 2025, revealing that fitness kickstarted her weight loss. “[My trainer and I] have things in common where it’s not just like, ‘Why are you doing this?’ Like, I don’t want to be yelled at. I want to be lovingly supported in whatever it is that I’m doing.’”

Chrissy told the outlet that she made her health change because she fears “aging, osteoporosis or arthritis” and is “now discovering so much about health overall [and] it’s really about being and staying strong and flexible.”
