Chrissy Teigen Feels Confident AF In Her Own Skin: ‘I Don’t Have To Be A Swimsuit Model Anymore’
Yas, queen! We love Chrissy Teigen for a lot of reasons — she’s fearless, funny, and honest. Now, in a new interview with Good Housekeeping, the 33-year-old model got real about her post-baby body and explained that she finally feels confident in her own skin.
“I think, in a way, we’ve forgotten what a regular body looks like,” she revealed to the outlet. “There are people out there who are struggling, and I’m struggling, and it’s OK to come to terms with realizing it’s going to be a bit of a journey. I’m not blind: I see my body, I see the difference in shape, I see that I gained weight.”
After struggling with her body image for a while, she realized that she doesn’t need to be stick-skinny in order to be content. “But I also see with those same eyes that I have a beautiful baby boy, and an amazing little girl, and I am very happy,” she confessed. “This is a new thing that I can change within my mind, that I don’t have to be a swimsuit model anymore. I get to be a mommy, cook, and meet incredible people, and I’m happy to be going through this transition.” Chrissy is giving us some major inspo right now, TBH.
One of the reasons that the mom-of-two is so open with her fans is because she wants to them to see her authentic self. “Every morning when I look at myself in the mirror, I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, how did it get here? My baby was like, four pounds and I gained, like 60 pounds, and that seems off!’” she said. “But, you know, I think everyone’s body is just really different. That’s why, my posts of real mom s—t, and wearing the diaper, and having that mesh thing, and real postpartum business? I think as important as it is for people to see me do that, it’s also really important for me.”
The Instagram queen has her hands full with Luna, 2, and Miles, seven months, but at the end of the day, if she can enjoy some wine and an episode of Below Deck with her hubby, John Legend, then that’s her happy place.
