Christina Hall and Josh Hall Get Into Tense Fight During ‘The Flip Off’ Premiere: ‘Shut Up Already’
Christina Haack (formerly known as Christina Hall) and Josh Hall split in July 2024 and their HGTV series The Flip Off is giving fans a front-row seat to the drama.
In a trailer for the January 29 season premiere, the now-exes were filmed during a tense car ride, where Josh, 44, was having a mostly one-sided conversation before telling his wife to “shut up.”
“This is a competition. We gotta pull out all stops. Whatever it takes to win, I’ll do it. Halls rule!” Josh said while looking over to his wife in the passenger seat. “You’re supposed to say it with me, or repeat it, or something that shows that you’re with me.”
The Christina on the Coast star, 41, stayed quiet, only looking forward as the car drove.
“Remember you’re a Hall now. Don’t get confused in this competition about what your last name is,” Josh continued as he waited for her to respond, eventually telling her, “You’re rude.”
Christina finally replied, telling him, “I don’t over talk” in a shaky voice.
The argument only grew more tense between the couple. “Yeah, the s–t you say and I’m just like, ‘I wish you’d shut up already,’” he continued. “My wife’s pissing me off already.”
Christina didn’t engage with her husband, only trying to conclude the conversation by asking, “Are we there yet?”
Josh was Christina’s third husband, following her 2021 divorce from her second ex-husband, Ant Anstead. The pair married in 2022 and were set to compete against Christina’s first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, as they flipped houses on The Flip Off.
The Flip Off was announced in May 2024, only two months before Josh filed for divorce on July 16, 2024, from Christina. She followed suit by filing her own paperwork one day later.
A source told Us Weekly on July 17, 2024, that Christina and her castmates were “moving forward” with production of The Flip Off “without Josh” after they both filed for divorce. The ex-couple’s divorce has been tumultuous, making headlines over disputes about selling her Tennessee home and financial matters.
“[She is] seeking to have me removed from a contractual agreement we entered into for the production of a new HGTV show The Flip Off,” he stated in court documents obtained by In Touch in September 2024.
Christina’s second ex-husband has seemingly replaced Josh on the show amid their divorce. Christina and Ant, 45, were spotted filming her upcoming HGTV series together in Los Angeles on November 7, 2024. The photos showed the U.K. native arriving on the set and chatting with crew members before getting down to business with Christina. In another snap, the exes appeared to be engaged in a friendly conversation, with Ant flashing a huge smile at Christina.
Christina and Ant were not always so cordial after their divorce, either. However, a source exclusively told Life & Style on October 30, 2024, that the British automotive expert’s actress girlfriend, Renée Zellweger, helped them mend their relationship, paving the way for his involvement in The Flip Off.
“She convinced Ant it’s silly to hold grudges and hated seeing him so worked up. Things are better now. She’s extended the olive branch to Christina, too, and looking forward to a drama-free holiday season,” the insider said.
